For God and our country
Gather we together

The cross of our savior
To be our ensign

When life's work is done
And we sink to our rest
The greater the toil
The sweeter the slumber,
A life nobly spent,
Is the only test,
Let us merit the crown
By good deeds without number,
With the cross at our head,
By His sacrament fed,
We fear not to join
The ranks of the dead
