The Order In Canada

The present-day Knights of St. John was incorporated in the state of New York in 1886 as the ROMAN CATHOLIC UNION OF THE KNIGHTS OF ST. JOHN. The Order currently exists in 18 countries.

On Sunday, October 10th, 2010, the first Commandery (Chapter) of the Order in present-day Canada was formally inaugurated in St. Jerome Parish in Brampton in the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Leadership in Commandery 710 is a service: the Worthy President and officers guide business sessions, investitures, parish ties, and charity—always in fidelity to the Holy See, KSJI constitutions, and the Canadian Charity Trust.

How Commandery 710 Serves Through Leadership Teams

KSJI Commandery 710 in Ontario organizes leadership through standing committees. Each group helps officers carry holy priorities forward: worship, fraternity, mutual aid, and faithful service to the Church and community.

Executive committee

Supports the Worthy President and commandery officers—preparing agendas, tracking KSJI rules and local bylaws, and coordinating reports so business sessions serve the good of all Knights.

Finance & treasury

Stewards assessments, dues, and charitable funds with careful budgeting and member accountability—keeping Commandery 710 transparent and solvent.

Membership & recruitment

Welcomes inquiries from Catholic men, walks candidates through formation, and supports investitures so new Knights are rooted in prayer, discipline, and brotherhood.

Liturgical & spiritual life

Fosters sacramental life, Holy Hours, and rosary; works with chaplains and pastors so Commandery 710 remains visibly Catholic in worship and devotion.

Charitable works & parish outreach

Plans charity drives, parish assistance, and neighborly service across Brampton, Peel, and partner parishes—faith put into mercy on the ground.

Communications & technology

Keeps brothers and families informed through circulars, the commandery site, and calendars—so every Knight knows when and where we pray, meet, and serve.

Fraternal & social events

Coordinates installations, family gatherings, and fellowship beyond formal minutes—building the friendships that sustain lifelong knighthood.

Uniforms, protocol & ceremonies

Cares for regalia, drill, and dignified public presence—so parades, investitures, and liturgical entries honor the order and the Church we serve.
